What this is

Clapchart is a writing and playback tool. It plays, draws and prints the rhythms and melodies you write, by the fixed rules on the how it works page. It does not correct your music, so a play-along is only as right as what you wrote: listen to it once before you use it with a class.

Where a word or a bar does not read or does not add up, the page shows it and waits for you; nothing is filled in. What you write is what plays and prints.

Names used

Titles on a board are the ones you type. If you write out a published song, check that you may use it in the way you intend; the starters on this site were written for it and are yours to use in class. Clapchart is not affiliated with any instrument maker, publisher or music exam board.

What is free

These stay free with no account. A paid tier adds the extras listed on the Premium page. Nothing free is moved behind a gate to make room for it.
